July 9, 2010 Well, once again I have been a complete slacker with my journal. I apologize. It is a lot more work to keep up with this than I thought it was going to be. I should not say that it is a lot of work, because it is not, rather it is hard to remember to write daily. I am going to put a sticky note right onto my computer to remind me everytime I open my screen to update the journal. Anyway, things have been good. The long weekend was very enjoyable. I love the 4th weekend. It is always so much fun. We spent a lot of time in the sun, boating and sitting pool side. I have to admit thought, that after a long weekend I am eager to get back to work. You can only bum around for so long. My cousin Tanya is coming into town this weekend so I am very excited about that. Only one listing appointment and one showing before my weekend begins. Have a great weekend everyone. June 18, 2010 It is days like today that make it difficult to stay in the office. 80 degrees outside and I cannot wait to get out and enjoy it. It seems like the nice weather brings out the buyers. I have had several calls already today which is great. I am looking forward to a nice weekend. I plan to spend some of it in Houghton for Bridgefest. We go every year and if the weather is nice we may even get to put the boat in the water. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Until next time... June 16, 2010 Another rainy day. Things are suppose to clear up by this afternoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Catching up on a few things in the office and then off on appointments. I got a lot of work done on the new house. Carpet is out, bathroom is gone, and lawn is mowed. Next step, put things back together and paint. We are hoping to have a renter in by July 1st. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this as well. June 15, 2010 The past two weeks have been very busy. Four closings within two weeks! Business has been good. I have also been busy listing. Three river front properties. Two on the Silver River and one on the Huron River. Take a look, they are great properties. Outside of work I have not been doing too much. The weather has been overcast and rainy for over a week now so it limits what you can do outside. My brother and I closed on our first house last Thursday. We plan to fix it up and turn it into a rental. 4 years in real estate and this is my first house. I now understand what buyer's go through on a far more intimate level than I had before. I think this will help me in the future when working with my buyer's. The home buying process can be scary, especially when it is your first time. Looking forward to the rest of the summer and what is looking to be a great selling season. Until next time.....have a great day! May 26th, 2010 I have been very busy these last couple of weeks. I guess it is that time of year again. The weather here has been very nice for this time of year. The temp was 94 in downtown L'Anse on Monday. The pool will get a lot of use if this keeps up. Today I am just trying to finish up listing some new homes in Baraga county. I have company coming into town for Memorial Day weekend so I want to get as much wrapped up before then as possible. April 7, 2010 Keeping up with my journal entries is is proving to be a lot more difficult than I had originally anticipated. Things have been busy. This is a very good indication as far as I am concerned as to where our economy is headed. I have two accepted offers on the table right now and two others in the works. I think that a lot of this has to do with the home buyer tax credit and also the many other government incentives out there right now. What will happen in a month when these incentives go away? I am not sure yet, stay tuned for that. The weather has been nothing short of amazing lately. Right now the sun is shining and life is good...great! March 1, 2010 So keeping up with the journal entries is proving to be a little more challenging than I had initially anticipated, but that is to be expected I suppose with all these exams at Tech being crammed into the two weeks before Spring break. I am hoping that once school is out for the summer I will have a little more free time on my hands. The good news is that things have been fairly steady here at the office. Keep the calls and inquires coming people. I love to hear from you and of course with our spring right around the corner there isn't a much better time to start looking for your future property or to call me about listing your current one. Statistics do show that people begin looking online 3 months prior to actually calling the listing agent. Stats also show that the new sophisticated buyer already knows most of what there is to know about the property. My isn't the Internet an amazing tool. How did agents do it before email and fax? I may never know...actually I hope that I never have to know because if it ever comes to that there is going to be something very very wrong with the world....until next time. Please keep the comments coming. February 17, 2010 Ok, today is my first day attempting to write an online journal. I hope that everyone will give me some feedback as to what they think. I am going to try and ad entries every other day, but I am not making any promises. I have spent the day so far catching up on email's. You would be surprised how many emails I get on a daily basis. Since I am in class at Tech on Tuesday's and Thursday's I don't always get a chance to get back to people until I am back in the office. I have also been looking at some investment properties for myself. The market is just saturated with listings right now and some of the deals out there are amazing. I am really hoping to capitalize on one of these amazing deals. I will let everyone know how it works out. Well, until next time.....Again, feedback is always welcome and greatly appreciated!! |
